Mazda Helps American Red Cross

The Mazda Company understands the importance of giving back to the community. The automaker has given back in a big way. Mazda recently joined as a $1 million member of the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program.

According to a Mazda press release, Mazda is the first automotive manufacturer to donate over $1 million to the Annual Disaster Giving Program. Additionally, the vehicle donation Mazda made to the American Red Cross is the company’s largest vehicle donation ever.

Mazda supplied the American Red Cross with 18 of its vehicles to deliver emergency supplies for disaster relief. Donated vehicles include the 2015 Mazda CX-9.

Mazda is committed to helping the American Red Cross through blood drives and disaster preparedness events as well.

“Thanks to the support of Mazda and other companies and foundations, the Red Cross can immediately respond to the needs of people impacted by disaster in the United States,” said American Red Cross President and CEO Gail McGovern in the press release. “Members of this program generously help create a reliable funding base for disaster relief services, providing food, shelter, emotional support and other essential assistance to disaster victims.”

Mazda’s effort in helping those affected by disasters is just another sign of what a responsible company it is.
