The 2015 Mazda3 has earned the top spot among Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com’s “10 Coolest Cars Under $18,000” for the second year running. This is the 12th consecutive time the car has been featured on KBB.com’s annual list since it was first introduced to consumers in 2003.

The top 10 cars are chosen based on two main criteria: how fun they are to drive, and how fun they are to own. As one might expect, the former is partly a matter of opinion, but it speaks volumes that the Mazda3 is consistently appears on the list. Cost, meanwhile, is based on Kelley Blue Book’s renowned Fair Purchase Price algorithm.

“The Mazda3 debuted a dozen model years ago, and has appeared on this annual list just as many times,” said the KBB.com editors. “Fun to drive, gorgeous and tech-savvy, Mazda’s compact car remains the king of affordable cool cars.”

When asked what makes the Mazda3 so cool—and we get asked a lot at Sierra Mazda—we usually point to the automaker’s trademark SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and KODO—Soul of Motion design. These elements of Mazda engineering and design ensure the best possible combination of performance, efficiency, and visual appeal. Throw in MAZDA CONNECT and i-ACTIVESENSE to cover infotainment and safety, respectively, and you’ve got yourself an extremely cool deal!
