Mazda was recognized recently for its impressive design, earning a nomination for the World Car Design of the Year. This award was given to the MX-5 Miata for the 2016 model year, and the CX-9 was recently named a finalist for 2017.
According to Mazda, the Mazda CX-9 has an impressive design with some exciting new features. This includes a lightweight build, SKYACTIV technologies, and improved fuel economy. Thanks to the weight reduction, the new CX-9 was also able to add some sound insulation to keep the ride truly quiet. Other interior features include available Nappa leather, rosewood, and signature trim.
“We couldn’t be more honored to have CX-9 recognized for two World Car of the Year categories,” said Masahiro Moro, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO). “Last year was a magical moment for the entire Mazda family when MX-5 won, and we’re proud to be among the small number of vehicles voted to the finalists lists from markets all over the world.”
Advanced technologies on the new CX-9 include things like the i-ACTIV all-wheel-Drive system with more than 27 sensors to read your situation and keep you protected. It’s no wonder the new Mazda CX-9 was nominated for the prestigious World Car Design of the Year award.
